The UN Human Rights Office calls for independent, swift and thorough investigations after two Palestinians were reportedly summarily executed by Israeli border police in Jenin while surrendering.

The UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) has called for an in-depth investigation after what it described as the apparent summary execution of two Palestinians by Israeli police on Thursday in Jenin, in the occupied West Bank. The killings reportedly occurred as the two men were surrendering.

"We are shocked by the horrific killing yesterday of two Palestinians by the Israeli border police in Jenin, in the occupied West Bank, in what appears to be another summary execution," OHCHR spokesperson Jeremy Laurence told reporters in Geneva, urging that the incident be subjected to "independent, swift and in-depth" investigations.
