Weather for 29 November: Strong storms persist, temperatures fall
According to the Hellenic National Meteorological Service (EMY), rainy weather will continue across almost all of Greece tomorrow, 29 November. Clouds will be temporarily increased with local showers over most of the country and scattered thunderstorms in several areas. EMY warns that thunderstorms may be locally strong until midday in the East Aegean islands and until late afternoon in the Dodecanese.
Visibility will be locally reduced inland during morning and evening hours. Winds will start from southerly directions at 4–6 Beaufort and locally up to 7 in the southeast, then shift—first in the north and gradually from midday over the rest of the country—to westerly/northwesterly 4–5 Beaufort, locally up to 6 in the west and south.
Temperatures will fall slightly nationwide. Typical maximums: 16–18°C in most regions, 19–21°C in the eastern and southern islands, locally up to 22°C in the Dodecanese, while northern areas will not exceed 14–16°C.
Macedonia & Thrace
Weather: Western Macedonia will have increased cloudiness, easing to few local clouds from midday. Other areas will see clouds with rain and scattered thunderstorms. From late afternoon, storms will weaken and be confined to Thrace while conditions improve in Macedonia.
Winds: N to NW 3–5 Beaufort; in the east winds will be easterly with similar strength until midday.
Temperature: 8 to 15°C, locally 16°C. Western Macedonia 3–5°C lower.
Ionian Islands, Epirus, Western Sterea, Western Peloponnese
Weather: Clouds temporarily increasing with local rain and scattered thunderstorms mainly over the Ionian Sea.
Winds: Southerly 3–5 Beaufort, shifting from midday to W–NW, locally up to 6 in the southern Ionian.
Temperature: 10 to 17°C. Interior Epirus 4–5°C lower.
Thessaly, Eastern Sterea, Evia, Eastern Peloponnese
Weather: Clouds temporarily increasing with local rain and scattered thunderstorms, mainly in eastern and southern parts. Gradual improvement from the afternoon.
Winds: S–SW 4–5 Beaufort, turning first in the north and from midday to W–NW elsewhere, locally up to 6 in the south.
Temperature: 8 to 17–18°C.
Cyclades & Crete
Weather: Clouds temporarily increasing with local rain and scattered thunderstorms.
Winds: W–SW 4–6 Beaufort; in the morning eastern parts may have S–SW winds locally up to 7 Beaufort.
Temperature: 13 to 21°C.
East Aegean Islands & Dodecanese
Weather: Clouds with rain and thunderstorms. Phenomena will be locally strong until midday in the East Aegean islands and until late afternoon in the Dodecanese.
Winds: Southerly 4–6 Beaufort, locally 7 in the south; turning late afternoon to W–SW 4–5 Beaufort.
Temperature: 14 to 22°C. Northern parts 2–3°C lower.
Attica
Weather: Few clouds, temporarily increasing with local rain in the morning. Isolated thunderstorms possible in the early morning over the eastern suburbs.
Winds: SW 4–5 Beaufort, turning from midday to W–NW 3–4 Beaufort.
Temperature: 9 to 18°C.
Thessaloniki
Weather: Clouds temporarily increasing with local rain. Gradual improvement from the afternoon.
Winds: N to NW 4–5 Beaufort.
Temperature: 7 to 14°C.
